known bug in Debian “Squeeze” causes an odd behaviour of the china LED light
. When running CrunchBang (3.2.0-0.bpo.2-686-pae kernel), the NumLock LED light would come on and remain on until I pressed the
NumLock key. However, while the NumLock LED is on from boot, the NumLock function is actually off!
So, I’d press the NumLock key to turn the light off, then continue to use the keys on the numeric pad as cursor control keys (while the china LED strip
t is off). Pressing the NumLock key once more activates NumLock
function as well as turns the china eco lamp
on. In other words, after turning off the NumLock LED light (by pressing the NumLock key once soon after system startup, the numeric pad keys behave normally.
I found out a way to turn off the NumLock LED key while preserving normal function of the keys on the numeric pad.
